This section of our report shows our performance against our chosen indicators of human rights practices for our GRI compliance.
Human rights practices in 2009
In 2009, we changed our registration with Global Compact, which had previously related only to our Danish operations, to cover the whole of the Grontmij group. We have for the first time reported on our entire operation in relation to human rights and the ten principles of the Global Compact. Grontmij fully supports the aims and objectives of the Global Compact and is committed to working towards the achievement of equality and elimination of discrimination and forced and compulsory labour.
In 2009 we have chosen to report against one GRI indicator that relates to the integrity of human rights performance. This is:
HR4 – Total number of incidents of discrimination and actions taken
Management of human rights
During 2010 we will continue our commitment to human rights observance and the establishment of working practices in support of the ten principles.
Throughout 2009, our engagement with both internal and external stakeholders led us to believe that we have selected the correct indicator in this area.
