I first joined the company in the year 2000 and as such, I can now celebrate my 10 year anniversary with the Ports and Marine department of Grontmij.

I think the reason why it is still very exciting to come to work every day is the number of opportunities that present themselves in a company like ours – if you are willing to challenge yourself as well.

I feel that Grontmij Denmark has supported me in all of my years with the company. They have listened to my wishes and also presented me with challenging and exciting opportunities. To me, it is very important to work in an organisation that is open to change and is constantly progressing.

For me personally, this has resulted in 3 very exciting and challenging years in Zanzibar, Tanzania, where I was part of Grontmij Denmark’s team supervising the reconstruction of Zanzibar’s only sea port. Working and living in Africa with my family was an experience, which, on many levels was once-in-a-lifetime and we will carry the memories from Zanzibar with us for many years to come.

Having returned to Denmark 2 years ago, I was eager to continue working on international projects, although, this time on a more short-term basis.

Thankfully, it has again been possible to honour this wish and in addition to my work in Denmark, I am now involved with two of our company’s large international wind power projects in Egypt and Vietnam which is promising to result in new exciting and challenging experiences.

As such, my 10 years with the company have been filled with ever-changing possibilities and I have always felt that both I and the company were progressing – to the mutual benefit of our clients, the company and myself.
