“After my study in Delft and some short detours I ended up at Grontmij. Here I was offered the opportunity to try a few functions within the department Infrastructure and get a taste of different things. Due to the rotating functions I was able to get to know the people and the organisation very well,” explains Harry Habing, Team Leader and Project Manager at Grontmij in the Netherlands.

After rotating within Infrastructure I proceeded to the Betuwe line project on which I worked for more than 10 years in different functions. I developed together with the development of the project and held functions ranging from project manager Geo engineering to pipes and cables. Eventually I became a process manager for the operating organisation and later on the project manager for the railway lines in Rotterdam.

In the mean time I also became team leader of the business unit and now combine this function with big projects.

Grontmij is a pleasant company to work for. It does require some independence to find your way around, but you are given ample opportunity to figure this out. Grontmij is a large organisation with plenty of support, personal development and opportunities. At Grontmij it’s all about the employees. Together we work on beautiful projects whilst keeping an eye on personal opportunities.
