In the article, Dekker and his co-author propose a model approach to expand transport infrastructure in an economically efficient fashion.

Dekker applies this approach to a sea port and, in doing so, arrives at a number of interesting recommendations for expanding the model. Maritime Economics & Logistics is an international scientific journal on ports, shipping, freight transport, logistics and economics and is published four times a year.
