Development of a Strategy for Port Expansion
Sander Dekker, senior consultant Strategic Planning at the Infrastructure & Environment department in the Netherlands, has written an article for the magazine Maritime Economics & Logistics. In the article, Dekker and his co-author propose a model approach to expand transport infrastructure in an economically efficient fashion.
In the article, Dekker and his co-author propose a model approach to expand transport infrastructure in an economically efficient fashion.
Dekker applies this approach to a sea port and, in doing so, arrives at a number of interesting recommendations for expanding the model. The results of the article contribute towards a firmer basis for the input of government investment in infrastructure and to the further development of social cost-benefit assessments.
