E.ON Wind Sweden AB (E.ON) granted consent for offshore wind farm Rødsand II (200 MW)
The Danish Energy Authority has according to the tender procedure and after finalisation of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure given consent to E.ON as of 31th October 2007 for establishment of the offshore wind farm Rødsand II south of Lolland.
E.ON took over the concession with 100% ownership after the exit of DONG Energy from the joint ownership. As their consultant E.ON chose to engage Grontmij in Denmark who had obtained solid knowledge on the Rødsand II project from the early EIA procedure (under DONG Energy).
Following this Grontmij in Denmark has assisted in the EIA procedure towards the final approved EIA and provided services related to drawing up the conditions in the permit. In addition to that Grontmij in Denmark has supervised the geotechnical investigations and has further provided assistance for tendering and contracting in general. Finally conditions regarding the optimisation of the wind farm layout in terms of production, cable, foundation, visual impact, navigation risk, installation, operation and maintenance have been continuously assessed.
The implementation of the project now awaits the final investment decision of E.ON at the end of December 2007.
