The geographic data system called PlanSystemDK, developed by Grontmij in Denmark and LIFA A/S has been nominated for an international award.

This system has been nominated for the European SDI Best Practice Award 2009 as one of the best systems for collection of geographic data in Europe. It was chosen from a pool of 160 applicants and is now one of twelve nominees taking part in the final competition. The winner of the award will be announced on 27th November in Torina, Italy.

The geographic data system was developed in commission by the Danish Agency for Spatial and Environmental Planning.

The European SDI Best Practice Award 2009 is awarded by the pan-European organisation eSDI-Net+, which aims at promoting the utilisation of geographic data in Europe on behalf of the European Commission.
