Grontmij ’s landscape architects awarded – again!
Grontmij’s landscape architects in Sweden have been involved in a project that has been awarded with the 'Sienapriset'. This is Sweden's most prestigious prize for landscape architecture and was won for the third time in a row.
The prize was awarded to a part of the park Rosenlundsparken in Stockholm, called ”The Beach”. When a former office building for the Swedish National Tax Board, was being converted into student housing and a shopping gallery, parts of the surrounding park were reshaped.
Playful character
Grontmij was commissioned for the renewal program of the park and furniture designer Thomas Bernstrand, was assigned to design seats in the sunniest part of the park. The seating concept, “The Beach”, consists of permanent sunbeds that together with parasols and up lighters work as an installation in the park and gives it a beautiful, playful character.
