In order to be able to generate electrical power it is necessary to drill down to stratums that bear thermal water – up to 4,000 meters deep.

Grontmij | AEW Plan’s work comprises all the mechanical and electrical engineering as well as the control and monitoring system and the construction technique.

What is geothermal energy?
Geothermal literally means terrestrial heat. At great depths under ground, water is heated up by the earth's core. The energy so generated can be used for various purposes. Using terrestrial heat yields a great many benefits. One major plus is the sustainable nature of this type of energy supply.

This makes this project in Munich in excellent keeping with Grontmij's strategy, which for many years now has been based on sustainable design and engineering.

The turnover for Grontmij | AEW Plan will be approx. EUR 800.000.

Grontmij intends to be the best local service provider for design, consultancy, management, engineering and contracting of projects in environment, water, energy, building, industry and transportation. Our employees thus create value for our clients and shareholders and contribute to a sustainable living and working environment.
