3 Jul 2007 | Press release - Grontmij wins major contract in Sweden

Major contract City Line Stockholm for Grontmij and SWECO.

Grontmij in Sweden and SWECO (Nordic region’s leading provider of consultancy services) has been awarded an extensive consultancy contract for the planned City Line in Stockholm. The customer is Banverket, the authority responsible for rail traffic in Sweden. The contract is worth a total of around 10,6 million Euro. SWECO is managing the project; Grontmij in Sweden delivers about 40% as subcontractor.

Building of the project is planned in the beginning of 2009 and includes planning, design and construction of two new railway tracks and a new railway station in a 6 kilometre long tunnel which connects the Stockholm South commuter station and Tomteboda in the centre of the city.

The new tracks will double the line capacity through Stockholm and allow for more frequent and punctual train connections in Stockholm and the region. It will also have a beneficial effect on rail traffic in the remainder of Sweden.

Grontmij intends to be the best local service provider for consultancy, management, engineering and contracting of projects in building, transportation, environment, water, industry and energy. Our employees thus create value for our clients and shareholders and contribute to a sustainable living and working environment.
