Jan Bosschem appointed as President EFCA
Jan Bosschem, Country Managing Director Grontmij Belgium, was appointed as the new President of the EFCA (European engineering federation) at the general meeting of EFCA in Berlin. His term will last three years from 2011 to 2014.
Jan Bosschem has been a member of the board of EFCA since 2005, first as treasurer and from 2008 as vice president. Jan Bosschem explains: "My future plan has three pillars. I will focus on improving the market for engineering in Europe, increasing the 'value for money’ for our members and to strengthen mutual cooperation between the EFCA and the international federation FIDIC."
The EFCA conference in Berlin was dedicated to improving the competitiveness of engineering consultancies to be able to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Grontmij had a strong presence at the conference with two presentations: ‘Performance Contracting’ by Harry Habing, Team Leader Asset Management Grontmij Netherlands and ‘Merging Several Companies with Different Cultures’ by Ina Brandes, Country Managing Director Grontmij Germany. Jan Bosschem also gave the welcoming speech as the new EFCA president, presented awards to the Young Professionals and gave a closing speech.
