Parking expert Sjoerd Stienstra of Grontmij on the economics of parking
Sjoerd Stienstra of Grontmij and Ian Betts of Betts Consulting in the UK authored an article together which appeared in the August edition of the UK magazine Surveyor. The article called “Under the influence” is about the economics of parking and how prices of parking are strongly influenced by the quality of what is on offer at the destination.
The magazine Surveyor is the world’s oldest municipal engineering magazine and covers topics such as highways, road safety, transport and traffic management.
Grontmij | Parkconsult is one of the leading experts on parking in the Netherlands and abroad, its expertise stretches from parking policy and planning to the technical and financial aspects of building and operating parking facilities. Grontmij is also involved in research into the behavioural aspects of parking traffic. Some results from this research were used in the article.
