As part of Thames Water’s overall € 5.7 billion (£ 5 billion) investment, Grontmij is one of a number of suppliers and contractors selected for the € 108 million (£ 95 million) programme of work for Thames Water’s AMP5 programme**, providing a programme management office and acting as project manager for the regional SCADA and site SCADA projects.
Work includes the migration of three separate regional SCADA systems into a single new central system, the replacement of up to 89 site SCADA systems across a range of different types and sizes of facility, as well as specialist technical and asset management support. Grontmij will be working with international consultancy, construction and programme management company Mace Group to deliver the project.
Lawrence Hughes, Group Director Water & Energy at Grontmij: ‘We are pleased to be appointed to such an important and high profile project by Thames Water. Winning a further SCADA replacement programme is demonstrative of our knowledge, expertise and track record in the water and utilities sector. The contract also offers us the opportunity to develop a wider relationship with Mace Group.’
