As Clients Consultant, Grontmij will be in charge of – amongst others - the preliminary investigations, preparation of project details and procurement, planning approvals as well as construction supervision of contractors’ work.
The new terminal shall be designed to meet future requirements for the ferry service between Gedser and Rostock (Germany). Two new double-deck ferries with a capacity for taking in and discharging passenger cars and lorries in two lanes from each deck will be operating on the route from early 2012. The new ferries will enhance the capacity at a 2.3 ratio as compared with the current ferry service.
