Grontmij will render its services for the so-called ‘Świnoujście sheating breakwater construction’ whereby a new 3 km long sheathing breakwater has to be built 1000 meters sea inwards and away from the existing breakwater, which is under renovation. Moreover, the project also includes the construction of 255 meters long wing dam to be built on the existing breakwater which will create the entrance to the new external seaport of Świnoujście for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tankers.
The project includes the creation of a new approach way with a vast 1742 meters in length, 200 meters width and a technical depth of 14.5 meters, as well as a vessel maneuvering basin for these large LNG tankers. The scope of Grontmij’s services includes supervising the project implementation as the Contract Engineer for the works contract.
Maciej Chrzanowski, President of the Board, Grontmij Poland: ‘This latest appointment again shows that Grontmij is valued for its ability to work cross border in international teams delivering innovative approaches and solutions for complex problems and challenging situations.’
