Grontmij is supporting Glasgow City Council in the remediation of the Athlete’s Village site for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will help rejuvenate and breathe new life into this central area of Glasgow.
The Commonwealth Games will create a lasting legacy for Glasgow including world class sports facilities, improvements to the public transport system and the creation of new jobs.
To support the delivery of a ‘low carbon games’, bioremediation techniques have been used. On-site soil washing has minimised the emissions from truck movements that would otherwise be required to process the soil off-site.
