Energy is the source of prosperity in our society. That is why energy plays a major role in all of our projects in the sectors industry, public buildings, housing and horticulture. We work on fossil fuels, transport and distribution and efficient energy use. But we focus most of our attention on the sustainable production of energy from clean biomass and waste products, on CO₂ storage and on wind energy, both off-shore and on-shore.

We offer our customers a broad range of conversion technologies and heat and cold storage. Energy saving remains a topical issue of course. Indeed, the decentralised production of energy is a trend in area development and one of Grontmij’s core businesses.

Bio based products plant in Belgium
Grontmij Industry is to provide basic engineering for the Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant in Ghent for bio based products and processes.

The transition to biogas and natural gas in Sweden
By the summer of 2009, some 90,000 properties connected to Stockholm’s town gas network are to be ready for the transition from gas based on naphtha/light petroleum to natural gas and biogas. Grontmij in Sweden supports this transition.

E.ON in Sweden is investing in a total remodeling and restoration of a more than 50-year-old plant. The new plant will be a highly efficient, ecofriendly and natural gas-fired plant. We contribute with skilled technical consultants and project management.
