Geotechnical engineers carry out site investigation

Ground conditions and hydrodynamica determined

Grontmij's consultants were entrusted a geotechnical survey prior to the construction of a 350 meters high sky scraper. This high rise building should arise in the business district La Défense in Paris.

For the new to build high rise building 'Phare Tower' Grontmij's consultants investigated the geotechnical and mechanical characteristics of the site on site and in our laboratories. We also carried out a research on the hydrodynamical conditions to be able to characterize the aquifers.

About the Tour Phare
The Tour Phare, or in English the Lighthouse Tower, is a planned 300 meter tall sky scraper with 71 floors. This green building is designed by the Los Angelos based architect Tom Wayne and planned to be completed in 2014. Once ready it will be the tallest sky scraper of Paris and one of the tallest in the European Union.
