New railway tunnel of 15,890 metres in Austria
Supervision of the local construction
The railway between Munich and Verona is widened to four tracks between Kundl/Radfeld and Baumkirchen (Austria) in order to strengthen the (commercial) rail-way transportation on the north-south-axis in Europe and therefore make an important contribution to immission control.
The railway between Munich and Palermo is widened to four tracks between Kundl/Radfeld and Baumkirchen (Austria) in order to strengthen the (commercial) rail-way transportation on the north-south-axis in Europe, take the pressure off the over-loaded Brenner motorway and therefore make an important contribution to immission control.
As part of this measure a new railway tunnel of 15.980 m length is built – which is very important for the noise protection of the inhabitants of this touristy area.
Grontmij BGS does (in a consortium) the local construction supervision of a 5.835,5 m long part of the tunnel.
