Tender process for the Port of Rotterdam

Design and Construct contract

Grontmij has been assigned to guide the tender process of a Design & Construct contract for the Port of Rotterdam. In a D&C Contract the contractor is accountable for the design and construction risks, where the client provides the very generic frameworks.

Contract management for new wharf
An option might also be to do the contract management. This is for the realisation of a new wharf construction for the RoRo ships of Stena line in commission of the Port of Rotterdam. RoRo ships (roll on, roll off) are designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as automobiles, trucks and railroad cars. Those can drive on and off the ships on their own wheels, instead of being lifted.

Port of Rotterdam
The Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe. The harbour functions as an important transit point for transport of bulk and other goods between the European continent and other parts of the world. From Rotterdam goods are transported by ship, river barge, train or road.
